User guidelines for booking Train ticketing through IRCTC site.
Indian Bank debit card holders are provided with new facility of booking train tickets through IRCTC website
by using the bank debit cards. A service charge of Rs.10/- (inclusive of service tax) per ticket will be
recovered from customer account for availing the service. Important steps to be followed are mentioned
below for guidance of the customers.
Log on to IRCTC website - http://www.irctc.co.in/
Register your username and password in IRCTC website after furnishing
required particulars therein. This needs to be done only once initially For booking ticket, enter username and password
and
then click go Now the page with following message will be displayed: Plan my travel and book ticket
Now details regarding from station, to station, date of journey, class and ticket type have to be filled up. There are two
types of tickets viz. I- ticket and E-ticket. I- ticket can be booked a minimum of three days in advance while e-ticket
can be booked upto chart preparation time. Tatkal facility is available. E-ticket is not available for booking if only waitlisted
tickets are available.Train has to be selected from the list of trains shown and click Book Ticket after ascertaining particulars
like fare, route and ticket availability.
Now Ticket Reservation Page is shown. Details like name of the passenger, age, sex, berth preference, food preference and
senior citizen should be filled up.Serial Number of the passenger who will carry Identification(ID) Proof should be chosen from
the list of passengers shown. ID proof may be any one of the following:
a)Driving license
b)Passport
c)PAN card
d) Voter ID
e)Central/State Government issued ID
ID type has to be selected and ID card no and Issuing authority columnhave to be filled up. Click go and confirm ID holder.
Now transaction details are shown. Click make payment option and select Indian Bank from the list of banks shown for making payment.
Now the payment gateway page is displayed wherein Billing information and payment information details are shown. After filling up
the required details, click submit after which billing information and payment information pages are again shown with filledin
particulars. Now click pay after verification of the particulars.
Now electronic Reservation Slip is displayed. After verification of particulars including ID particulars, print button can be clicked
for printing the ticket.
In case, reservation could not proceed for reasons like communication failure, etc., Reference number will be displayed which the
customer has to note for future queries.
While cancellation of I-ticket is not permissible in the IRCTC site, cancellation of E-ticket is possible.
