The scheme of Distance Learning which is exclusively for the employees of Indian bank was introduced as an innovative methodology to develop human resources through the training system.

The scheme of Distance Learning for Self Development (DLSD) was launched in April '94 and employees of all cadres of Indian Bank have evinced interest in joining the course in large numbers. DLSD in Indian bank is open to all cadres of employees of Indian Bank. There are three courses - Course A, Course B, and Course C. Each course has 3 modules covering 2 subjects. Each subject has 6 chapters.

 
 

It is designed to suit the beginners in the Bank or those who want to start from the basics of banking activities in a branch. In this we cover step by step the subjects like Deposits, Cash, Collection, Remittance, Ancillary services, Government Transactions, Laws relating to Banking, Customer Service, Work Ethics, Quality Management and Behavioural Science. 

 
 

It is designed to suit employees with more than three years of experience and this will help them to appear for promotion tests as well as CAIIB examinations. The subjects covered are : Deposits, Collections, Remittances, Ancillary Services, Advances, Recovery and Profitability, Foreign Exchange and Financial Services.

 
 

It is designed to suit employees with good work experience in branches. It is an advanced level course where employees are given opportunity to share their experience and to improve the problem solving skills through case studies.

 

In all courses , the question paper contains a brief description of the topic covered in the chapter and reference to the manuals/circulars. It has objective type questions, case studies and questions inviting brief and detailed answers.
