Indian Bank has sponsored two Regional Rural Banks (RRBs)
viz., Saptagiri Grameena Bank and Pallavan Grama Bank. Saptagiri
Grameena Bank is operating in two districts of Andhra Pradesh
viz, Krishna and Chittoor with Chittoor as Head quarters.
Pallavan Grama Bank with Head Quarters at Salem is operating
in 14 districts of Tamilnadu viz., Salem, Namakkal, Krishnagiri,
Dharmapuri, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Coimbatore, Karur, Erode,
Nilgiris, Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur.
The third RRB sponsored by Indian Bank is Puduvai Bharathiar
Grama Bank at Union Territory of Puducherry with its head
quarters at Puducherry. Hon'ble Union Finance Minister Sri.P.Chidambaram,
inaugurated the RRB on 01.06.08 at Puducherry and declared
open its first branch 'Puducherry Main'.
Sri.M.S.Sundara Rajan, Chairman and Managing Director of Indian
Bank presided over the function. Hon'ble Chief Minister of
UT of Puducherry Sri.N.Rangasamy, Hon'ble Union Minister of
State for Planning and Parliamentary Affairs Sri. V.Narayanasamy,
Hon'ble Member of Parliament Dr.M.Ramadass, Muthialpet, (Puducherry)
and Member of Legislative Assembly Sri. Nandha T.Saravanan
felicitated.
Earlier Sri.A.Subramanian, Executive Director of Indian Bank
welcomed all the dignitaries and participants. The Chairman
of Puduvai Bharathiar Grama Bank Sri.R.Manimaran proposed
the vote of thanks.
Various Officials from the Government, Reserve Bank of India
and NABARD, Customers and general public participated in the
function.
