Ø      Only information needed - ‘eight digit reference number’

Ø      Only document needed – Proof of ID

Ø      Maximum amount that can be remitted – equivalent of USD 2500.00

Ø      Type of transaction allowed – all personal remittances.

Ø      Maximum of Rs.50,000/- can be received by way of cash.  In case the amount is more than Rs.50,000/- payment will be received by way of Demand Draft or Banker’s payment order

Ø      Foreign tourists can receive amounts in excess of Rs,50,000/- by cash.

Ø      Process is very simple.  Remitter goes to Money Gram Sending agent aboad.  Produces valid ID and remits the funds.  He is given 8 digit reference number.  He gives this reference number to the beneficiary.  The beneficiary walks into any one of our CBS branches.  He produces his valid ID.  Fills the Receive Form giving details asked for including 8 digit reference number. Within 15 minutes he receives the funds.
