Indian Bank ATMs to generate rail tickets
Indian Bank has tied up with Indian Railways to set up automated teller machines in railway stations. These ATMs would come with an additional feature where passengers would be able to book and print tickets. The state-owned bank will be setting up 51 ATMs in railway stations across the country. Mr A Subramanian, ED, Indian Bank, said the bank would initially open 20 ATMs, and the first at Egmore in Chennai is likely to be launched in a month's time. "This feature does not cost much. Additional software plus a printer," he said. The bank is thinking of offering this service across all its ATMs eventually. This means one more option for passengers to book tickets.
