INDIAN BANK launches Ind on-line Doorstep Banking - a new Banking Delivery Channel for the common man at Ariyoor village, UT of Puducherry
Indian Bank has launched Ind on-line Doorstep Banking to deliver Banking and Financial Services at the doorsteps of the common man. Launching on -line banking at a function held at Ariyoor Village today, Shri M S Sundara Rajan, the Chairman and Managing Director, Indian Bank said that the Bank has successfully implemented the Financial Inclusion project in the Union Territory of Puducherry, by bringing people in hitherto unbanked sector to the banking sector. The Bank has replicated the project in cuddalore district of Tamilnadu and other parts of the country including Dharavi at Mumbai where the migrants from southern states predominantly reside.

Explaining the Bank's e-initiatives to take Financial Inclusion deep into the unbanked areas Shri M S Sundara Rajan said that the bank, as a part of taking technology banking to the Common Man, has now introduced Ind on-line Doorstep Banking, a new Delivery channel for the digital empowerment of the Common Man for utilizing banking / financial services.

Ind Online Door Step Banking aims at offering online banking services through internet Kiosks at locations where end to end connectivity may not be available/ feasible.

This model envisages the establishment of Internet Kiosk for effecting limited Banking operations. It can be used in any remote location / branch / satellite offices where Broadband connectivity is available. Initially our Bank officials will be operating the Kiosk and the model can be enhanced as Business facilitator model.

Customers will be given identity cards to make use of the Kiosk. The ID card will contain the Photo and signature of the customer.The transactions like Balance Enquiry, Statement of Account, Cash withdrawal, Cash receipt are enabled and the customers will be given receipts duly signed by the authorized official immediately.

It is also proposed to offer non financial services like providing information to the farmers / villagers on climatic conditions , availability of agricultural inputs, prices of various commodities, packages of practices of various crops etc using the websites of universities and Government departments.

He appealed to the banking public to make effective use of the new service offered by the bank.

Prof.M.Ramadoss Hon'ble Member of Parliament ( Lok sabha ) commended the services rendered by Indian Bank under Financial Inclusion Project and also the new initiatives taken by the bank for the benefit of the common man. Shri A.Elumalai, Hon'ble Member of Legislative Assembly, Ossudu constituency also congratulated Indian Bank for launching such an innovative initiative in his constituency for the benefit of the Villagers.

It was also demonstrated to the invitees how the transactions can be effected in the Ind on-line Doorstep Banking through power point presentation.

Shri Selvam Veeraraghavan, General Manager(RBS), Head Office, Indian Bank welcomed the gathering and Shri M.Savarimuthu, Deputy General Manager, Circle Office Puducherry proposed vote of thanks.
